While you can always search for groceries and other essentials nearby on Google Maps, you can also include this as an item to search for when you're considering off-campus housing options. This is made easy through the Commute Planner tool, which is found on all off-campus housing listings.
How to Use the Commute Planner Map:
- Visit the Housing search page and choose any property listing.
Scroll down to find the embedded Google Map, labeled "Map of" followed by the property's name.
- Use the options along the bottom toolbar to explore nearby grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, banks, and more.
- Select a campus from the drop-down menu in the top-left to view your commute from the property. Consider what shopping options are available along your route (especially if you won't have a car)!
